Why Silicone?

When I started our weaning journey with Ruru, I have used feeding products made of plastic, glass, bamboo and ceramic (basically all the options available out there 😂). There were features of those different options that did not work too well for me. And I set out to see what other options are available that would tick more boxes for me. So here is why I have decided to use silicone products and to stock it and share with you guys! 💕

First things first, what is silicone?
Silicone is a man-made polymer created by adding carbon and/or oxygen to silicon.

Silicone features:
⭐ Food safe - nothing nasty will leach into your baby's food.
⭐ Heat safe (up to 200°C) - so it can be used in the microwave and dishwasher, but NOT on the stove.
⭐ Break, shatter, chip proof - no fear of the little ones breaking it and hurting themselves.
⭐ Flexible and soft - AMAZING for teething babies! Also incredibly space saving - simply roll it up and pop it in your bag for when you are out. It will still fit even if your bag is chocka full!

⭐ Easy to clean - either wipe clean with a damp cloth, wash with warm soapy water or simply pop it in the dishwasher.
⭐ Eco friendly - although it is not made of natural fibres, it is super durable so you can use it for a long time without the need to replace it.
⭐ Hygienic and hypoallergenic - it is smooth and has no open pores for bacteria to harbour on.
⭐ Non-slip on smooth surfaces - no more plate throwing in the house!

⭐ Comes in a range of colors and design - choose to your heart's content!
